BATON ROUGE, La. – The lobbies of LSU's Music & Dramatic Arts Building, School of Music Building, and Tiger Band Hall will soon feature a helpful new interactive digital kiosk experience for students and patrons alike, built by LSU College of Engineering undergraduate student Caleb Langley.

Built on LSU's existing content management platform, ModernCampus, the interactive experience consolidates a variety of useful tools and information for visitors and event patrons into an easy-to-use touchscreen format. Langley was responsible for all aspects of coding and design on the project, working with staff in the college's marketing office to ensure LSU brand compliance and accurate content.

Following a presentation of the project by Langley to college administrators, funding was allocated to proceed with a full installation in the School of Music building to polish and finalize the experience.

"Caleb did an amazing job on this project and we are excited to see the benefit of the countless hours of work he has invested in its creation," said Eric Lau, dean of the LSU College of Music & Dramatic Arts. "This new interactive interface will greatly enhance the way our community can explore the opportunities our college has to offer, right from our lobby."

The features offered by the initial installation include:

  • A full College of Music & Dramatic Arts faculty & staff directory
  • A touch-friendly version of the 3D LSU Campus map
  • An interactive list of upcoming LSU performing arts events
  • An overview of LSU's performing arts degree programs
  • Information on how to apply to LSU or participate in an LSU performing ensemble
  • Information on philanthropy opportunities with the LSU Foundation
